A new asphalt pumptrack has come to life in Velenje! Built by Planapark as part of the Lipa Multigenerational Park development in the Gorica neighbourhood, the pumptrack is part of a nearly 15,000 m² public space dedicated to sports, recreation, social interaction and active leisure for all generations.
Pumptrack as Part of a Larger Sports and Recreation Area
The Lipa Multigenerational Park in the Gorica neighbourhood was designed as part of a comprehensive development of the area. In addition to the pumptrack, visitors can enjoy a new children’s playground, outdoor fitness equipment, basketball and multi-purpose sports courts, table tennis facilities, chess areas and spaces for socialising. The park also features more than 70 newly planted trees.
The pumptrack’s location creates an excellent connection between cycling infrastructure and other sports and social activities. It has become an important part of the park, encouraging active lifestyles and bringing different generations together.
An Asphalt Pumptrack for Riders of All Ages and Abilities
The new asphalt pumptrack is designed for cyclists, scooter riders and users of various other wheeled sports equipment. Its combination of rollers, turns and changes in elevation allows riders to maintain momentum through coordinated body movements. The smooth asphalt surface provides excellent riding conditions and is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.
The pumptrack encourages movement and helps develop balance and coordination without the need for constant pedalling. It offers an engaging and accessible recreational experience for different age groups.
A New Space for Recreation and Socialising
The Lipa Multigenerational Park in Gorica was officially opened on 4 September 2026. The opening ceremony also marked the presentation of the new pumptrack, which complements Velenje’s sports and recreational facilities.
The Velenje project demonstrates how modern cycling infrastructure can become an integral part of a wider residential environment. Together with other sports and recreational facilities, it encourages physical activity, social interaction and active leisure.
